Welcome to Save It Forward, an LMU student-led initiative dedicated to empowering young people with essential financial literacy skills. Our program is designed for middle school, high school, and college students, covering key topics like budgeting, saving, and responsible financial management. Through engaging workshops and personalized mentorship, we equip students with the knowledge to make informed financial decisions and understand their real-world impact. By fostering a peer-driven approach, we aim to create a ripple effect, enabling students to share their newfound skills with their communities and amplify financial literacy beyond the classroom.

Managing Director
Liam Goodfellow
Liam Goodfellow is a sophomore finance major from San Francisco who serves as Managing Director and a peer mentor at Save It Forward. After founding a high school finance club, he began teaching financial literacy to help peers build smart money habits. Liam brings strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills to the team, aiming to make finance simple and accessible for all.
Administrative & Marketing Director
Arely Cano
Arely Cano is an Entrepreneurship and Finance double major from Los Angeles. After noticing how limited financial education is in many communities, she joined Save It Forward to help students feel confident with money and see that financial freedom is possible. As SIFI’s Administrative and Marketing Director, she manages operations and leads outreach to strengthen the program’s visibility and reach.
Faculty Advisor
Dr. Jason D’ Mello
Jason Francis D’Mello, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Professor D’Mello researches funding gaps for minority entrepreneurs, underdog entrepreneurs and motivations, universal basic income, new venture teams, and small business succession. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including LMU's Business Incubator, Social Entrepreneurship, Technology Management and Decision Making (Executive MBA), New Venture Creation, Introduction to Entrepreneurship, New Product Design and Development, and was a national finalist for the USASBE "Excellence in Pedagogical Innovation Award" for creating LMU's course: "Entrepreneurial Acquisitions. Professor D’Mello received his PhD from the University of Louisville an MBA from LMU and a BBA from Western Michigan University and now resides in Los Angeles, CA.
